of one mind, the one of like soul and endurance. Consubstantial. the one existing from the very substance of the subject. Eating together. living together. Confederates. those of the same tribe. from *spendo*, I make a treaty. omicron.1447 Uterine brother. the brother. Because of falling around the same ankles of the mother when born. Of the same nature. of the same kind. † Ompnios. nurtured.† Navel. is properly said of the middle of our body. From *ompnein*, which is to breathe, comes *ompnalos* and *omphalos* by changing the π to a φ, and by dropping the ν. it is the navel, through which the embryo breathes; for the infant, being in the womb, is coiled beside it and breathes and is nourished. or from resembling a *phalos*; for it is hanging at the beginning before being cut off. but it is said metaphorically also of a yoke and a shield and certain other things. Like. similar. with the addition of an iota, as *geloios* becomes *geloiïos*. Ploughing in the same furrow. having common furrows, neighbours. for the Dorians say *ōlaka* for *aulaka*. Under the same roof. under the same roof. Bordering on. neighbour. dwelling near. (Feminine.) Assembly. a gathering. from being gathered together and assembled. Female of the same age. the female of the same age. Hostageship. that of a hostage, and the intercourse and meeting face to face. Mist. darkness; invisibility. or thick and moist air. as if being of a similar matter. from together and the compression of the clouds, *homilē*, and with the addition of a chi, *homichlē*. omicron.1448 Urination. the urination. Rebuke. the threat. there is a verb *klō*, meaning I call and I say. and *klō* comes from *kalō* by syncope. so from *klō* and *homou* comes *homoklō* and *homoklē*. as if spoken to all together. for example: -but he called out among the Trojans. instead of he was calling and saying to all. whence also *eniklan* instead of to speak against. for we find the preposition *en* instead of *anti*. as in Sophocles: but I call Odysseus your opponent. instead of opponent. Homole. name of a mountain. Unanimity. the unanimity. Unanimity. unanimity. or breathing. Oracle. divine utterance, divine voice. or a divine dream. from *phō*, I show, and *on* (being) comes *omphē*, with the ν changed to μ. that which shows what is. Of mighty rain. water. Homeric verse. that of Homer. Hostages. the pledges given for the sake of peace. Having like parts. of which the part is like the whole. or also that which is called homonymously with others and with the whole. Likenesses. imitations of existing things. for example of the sun, moon, men, beasts. A wiping off. that which is squeezed out. Accompanying. that which is conformed to the soul. omicron.1449 Grazing together. that which has the same pasture. Consubstantial. the same according to the subject. or that which is in no way and inseparably in need of the other. or that which is unchangeable according to substance. Consubstantial. that which exists of the same substance and energy, equal and unchangeable, as man of man, angel of angel, and animal of animal, and flame of flame; being in different hypostases, but in one substance. and it is called consubstantial, because it possesses one substance and power. but consubstantial is said in five ways: consubstantial, cognate; of the same kind; of the same nature and of the same tribe. or consubstantial is that which is lesser in power in the same substance. for example a crumbling stone and a hard-hewn stone; wood of a palm tree and wood of ebony; flesh of a fish and flesh of a camel. but of a different substance is that which is in every way unlike the other, as fire and water, and man and angel, and clay and the sun, in relation to green grass. Of one hypostasis. that which is otherwise composed into one and the same hypostasis, but being itself different according to substance, as is the case with soul and body and the others, as many as differing by a heterogeneity of nature are united in hypostasis. Homonyms. things are called homonyms, of which the name is common, but the definition of the substance corresponding to the name is different. for example the Simons; insofar as they are Simons they are homonyms. therefore it is necessarily said corresponding to the name. for the definition signified by the name omicron.1450 is different. for Simon the Cananite with his distinction is one thing, and the Zealot is another. but nothing prevents the same †things from being both homonymous and synonymous† according to one thing †indeed† and another and †not† according to the same thing. A homonymous name is that which is applied homonymously to many things, for example
