similar to saying, “Thus says the Lord Almighty.” And “My Spirit has stood in your midst” is similar to saying, “If anyone opens to me, I and the Father will come in and we will make our home with him”; But Isaiah, “and upon him the Spirit of God,” but Christ, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me”; and “Jesus of Nazareth, whom God anointed with the Holy Spirit,” or “the Lord has sent me and his Spirit.” And the voice of the Seraphim is also clear, crying out 3.322 “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Sabaoth.” But if you hear that “being exalted at the right hand of God, having received the promise of the Spirit from the Father” or “to await the promise of the Father which you have heard”; or that “the Spirit drives him out into the wilderness,” or that he himself says “do not be anxious what you are to say, for it is the Spirit of my Father speaking in you,” or “but if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons,” or “but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven” and what follows, or “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit,” or “the child grew and became strong in spirit,” or “And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan” or “Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit” or “that which is born of the Spirit is spirit,” similar to saying “what has come into being in him was life” or “and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, the Spirit of truth” or “why has Satan filled your heart,” Peter to Ananias, “for you to lie to the Holy Spirit?” and after this, “You have not lied to men, but to God.” Therefore God from God and God is the Holy Spirit, to whom they lied who kept back part of the price of the land, or “God was manifested in the flesh, was vindicated in the Spirit.” I have nothing greater to say than this. And the Son is God; “from whom,” he says, “is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God.” “Believe,” he says, “in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved,” and “he spoke,” it says, “the word of the Lord to them,” “and bringing them up into his house, he set a table for them, and rejoiced with his whole household, having believed in God,” or that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,” or “that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior,” or “for the grace of the God and Savior has appeared to all men, training us,” or “awaiting the blessed hope and the manifestation 3.323 of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.” And the ministry of the Spirit and of the Word is the same; “Pay attention,” he says, “to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers to shepherd the church of God,” similar to saying, “I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service.” 7. Therefore, as has been shown, the Son and the Holy Spirit work together with the Father; “For by the word of the Lord the heavens were made firm, and by the spirit of his mouth all their host.” And the Holy Spirit is to be worshipped; “for those who worship God must worship in spirit and truth.” But if these work together, a creature does not create a creature, nor does the Godhead become created, nor is God known in measure or limitation. For he is uncircumscribable, incomprehensible, unimaginable, containing all the works of God. Nor is creation to be worshipped. “For they worshipped the creation rather than the Creator, and they became fools.” For how is it not foolish to theologize a creature, and to disregard the first commandment which says, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord your God is one Lord,” “There shall be no new god among you?” But in the holy scriptures different names are called of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; of the Father, Father Almighty, Father of all, Father of Christ; of the Son, Word, Christ, True Light; of the Holy Spirit, Comforter, Spirit of truth, Spirit of God, Spirit of Christ. Furthermore, therefore, God is conceived of, and the Father, as Light, but, as exceedingly bright, Power, Wisdom. But if God and the Father is light, light
