And these are of the Old Testament: Genesis, whose beginning is: "In the beginning God made the heaven and the earth." Exodus, whose beginning is: "These are the names of the sons of Israel who went into Egypt." Leviticus, whose beginning is: "And he called Moses, and the Lord spoke to him in the tabernacle of testimony." Numbers, whose beginning is "And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai in the tabernacle of testimony." 28.285 Deuteronomy, whose beginning is: "These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan, in the wilderness, toward the west, near the Red Sea." Joshua the son of Nun, whose beginning is: "And it came to pass after the death of the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua, the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, saying." And the beginning of the first is: "And there was a man from Armathaim Sipha, from mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, son of Jeremiel, son of Eli." And the beginning of the second is: "It came to pass after the death of Saul, that David returned from smiting Amalek." Third and Fourth Kingdoms, again counted as one book. And the beginning of the third is: "And king David was old, advanced in days; and they covered him with clothes, but he was not warm." And the beginning of the fourth is: "And Moab transgressed against Israel, after the death of Ahab." First and Second Chronicles, counted as one book. And the beginning of the first is: "Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Maleleel, Jared, Enoch, Mathusala, Lamech, Noe." And the beginning of the second is: "And Solomon the son of David was strengthened over his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly." First and Second Esdras, counted as one book. And the beginning of the first is: "And Josias kept the Passover in Jerusalem to his Lord on the fourteenth day of the first month."
