Fragments on Hebrews

24.605 For a divine descent is said to have occurred upon the mountain at the time when he gave the law, so that all might see the power of God; for this descent is manifest, not spatial. For though the things growing on the mountain were burning fiercely, the fire consumed nothing; and the sounds of trumpets were heard very loudly, though no such instruments were present, nor anyone sounding them, but all things were happening by a divine contrivance. So that it is clear from these things that the descent was divine, and that God was showing his own majesty through all things without any medium.

Fragmenta in Hebraeos
