A DISCOURSE ON THE SAMARITAN WOMAN

74 We therefore, with unveiled face, behold as in a mirror the all-holy flesh of the Lord through the form in an icon. Therefore, having the eye of the soul undisturbed, looking upon the form of the [first-impressed] icon, let us glorify the archetype of the icon.

ΛΟΓΟΣ ΕΙΣ ΤΗΝ ΣΑΜΑΡΕΙΤΙΝ

74 Ἡμεῖς οὖν ἀνακεκαλυμμένῳ προσώπῳ τὴν τοῦ Κυρίου ἐνοπτριζόμεθα παναγίαν σάρκα διὰ τῆς ἐν εἰκόνι μορφῆς. Τὸ γοῦν τῆς ψυχῆς ὄμμα ἀθόλωτον ἔχοντες, πρὸς τὸ τῆς πρωτοτυ[πωθείσης] εἰκόνος μόρφωμα προσβλέποντες, δοξάζωμεν τὸ τῆς εἰκόνος ἀρχέτυπον.
