BEGINNING OF A.

1.1 You think archaic things: that is, simple-minded. 1.2 An Abydene dessert: the unpleasant thing, because the people of Abydos, after dinner, would bring their own children to the feasters, screaming and making a racket and causing unpleasantness for the diners. 1.3 The life of Habron: the luxurious one. 1.1 Ἀρχαικὰ φρονεῖς: ἤτοι εὐήθη. 1.2 Ἀβυδηνὸν ἐπιφόρημα: τὸ ἀηδές, διὰ τὸ τοὺς Ἀβυδηνοὺς μετὰ δεῖπνον προσάγειν τοὺς ἑαυτῶν παῖδας τοῖς εὐωχουμένοις κεκραγότας καὶ θορυβοῦντας καὶ ἀηδὲς ἐμποιοῦντας τοῖς δαιτυμόσι. 1.3 Ἅβρωνος βίος: ὁ πολυτελής.
