And that you may also know this, that the working of this false order which is
called the new prophecy (scil. Montanistarum haeresis) is abominable to the entire brotherhood in the world, I have sent to you also the writings of Claudius Apolinarius, the most blessed bishop in Hierapolis of Asia.Attulit haec Eusebius lib. v. Hist. c. 19; ubi proxime post pergit scribere, And in this letter of Serapion, there are also found subscriptions of different bishops; of whom one subscribed in this manner: I, Aurelius Cyrenius, a martyr, pray for your health. and another in this way: Aelius Publius Julius, bishop of Debeltum, 452 a colony in Thrace: As God who is in the heavens lives, that the blessed Sotas of Anchialus wished to cast out the demon of Priscilla, and the hypocrites did not permit it. And of many other bishops who agreed with these, their autograph subscriptions are found in the aforementioned letters.

For we, brothers, receive both Peter and the other apostles
as Christ; but the pseudepigrapha in their name, as being experienced, we reject; knowing that we have not received such things. For when I was with you, I supposed that all held to the right faith. And not having gone through the gospel put forward by them in the name of Peter, I said: that if this is the only thing that seems to cause you a scruple, let it be read. But now having learned from what was said to me that their mind 453 was lurking in some heresy, I will make haste to come to you again. So, brothers, expect me quickly. But we, brothers, having understood (Vet. Interp. κατελάβομεν) of what heresy Marcian was, and (Idem ὃς καὶ) he contradicted himself, not understanding what he was saying, which you will learn from what has been written to you. For we were able, by borrowing it from others who practiced this very gospel—that is, from the successors of its originators, whom we call Docetists (for most of their opinions are of that teaching)—to go through it and find that most things were of the right teaching of the Savior, but some things had been added, which we have also subjoined for you. Attulit Eusebius lib. vi. Hist. cap. 12.
