1,1 Ἐν πολλαῖς ἐπιστολαῖς ξένον τίθησι ῥῆμα τοῦ μέλλοντος εἰσάγεσθαι λόγου κατασκευαστικόν, καὶ νῦν ἐπειδὴ ἔμελλεν ἀξιοῦν ὑπὲρ Ὀνησίμου τῇ ἑαυτοῦ ἀξίᾳ- ἀξία δὲ αὐτοῦ τὸ δεδέσθαι-, τὸ ἀξιόπιστον τῆς παρακλήσεως δείκνυσιν.
