9Jo 1, 32 For even if it was possible to see with perceptible eyes the Spirit descending as in the form of a dove, but nevertheless it was not for this reason a complete necessity for the matter to be manifest to all.
12Jo 2, 1-9 According to a spiritual interpretation, the Word of God has descended from the heavens, in order that having made human nature his own like a bridegroom, he might persuade it to conceive the spiritual seeds of wisdom. And the wedding is celebrated on the third day, that is, in the last times of the age; for the number three introduces for us a beginning and a middle and an end. Similar to this appears what was said through one of the prophets: He will strike and he will bind us up; and he will heal us after two days, and on the third day we shall rise again and shall live in his sight; and we shall know, we shall pursue to know the Lord, as the morning we shall find him ready. For he struck because of the transgression in Adam, but again he himself bound up on the third day, that is, in the last times, when, having become man for our sakes, he showed the whole of nature healthy by raising it from the dead in himself. Therefore, through this he said the third day, on which the wedding was celebrated. And he says in Cana of Galilee, not in Jerusalem, so that he might say outside of Judea in the land of the Gentiles; for Galilee of the Gentiles, the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light; for it is clear that the Jews rejected the bridegroom from heaven, but the church from the Gentiles received him gladly, but the Savior does not come of his own accord; for he was called by many voices of the saints; but wine had run out for those being feasted; for the law perfected no one, it did not suffice for complete rejoicing, nor did even the measure of its inherent astringency extend to being able to preserve. Therefore it would be true also in our case, "they have no wine." But God does not overlook nature being worn out by the lack of good things, but he revealed a wine better than the first; for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life; for the divine teachings of the evangelical doctrine bring in the fullest blessing. And the master of the feast marvels at the wine, that is, the new one; for each of those being initiated into the divine priesthood is astonished at his word, which is beyond the law. And Christ commands it to be given to him first; for the hard-working farmer must be the first to receive a share of the crops, and let the hearer understand what I am saying.
22 Jo 5, 45 For it was not seemly for him, having left the dignity of the judge, to make accusations against them as in a court of law. There is one who accuses you, Moses, in whom you have hoped; for at the time of judgment he will be appointed their accuser, because they did not pay attention to his words nor did they believe his prophecies, through which he signified the coming of the Lord.
23Jo 6, 1-2 The crossing over and the change of places sufficiently tested the disposition of the crowd; for while the more indolent remained in their place out of laziness, the more zealous followed him even into the desert, being strengthened daily in their souls by the signs that were happening.
24Jo 6, 5 He shows the freedom from avarice and the voluntary poverty of those with him, who had not even enough to buy necessary food.
25Jo 6, 5-7 It was necessary for him, upon hearing "Where shall we buy bread, so that these may eat?" to entrust the whole matter to the power of the Lord. But now, having considered nothing worthy of the power of the Lord, he thought lowly and human things, saying:
