rising and bones rejoicing and souls gladdened and men being formed and heavens being rent and powers crying out: "Lift up your gates, O ye rulers" and so forth. Today I saw the heavenly king ascending, girded with light, above lightning and rays, above the sun and springs of waters, above clouds and the spirit of power and eternal life.” For He was hidden first in the womb of the flesh, and then in the womb of the earth, in one place sanctifying those who are born through His conception, in the other giving life to the dead through His resurrection; “For sorrow and grief and sighing have fled away.” “For who has known the mind of God, or who has been His counselor,” other than the Word made flesh and nailed to the wood and risen from the dead and exalted to the heavens?

6 This day is a proclamation of joy; for on this day the Lord arose, raising with Him the flock of Adam; for He was born for man and He rose in man. Today through the Risen One paradise is opened and Adam is made alive and Eve is comforted and the calling is multiplied and the kingdom is prepared and man is saved and Christ is worshipped; for having trampled down death and taken the tyrant captive and despoiled Hades, He ascended into the heavens, as a victorious king, as a glorious leader, as an unwearied charioteer, saying to the Father: “Behold I and the children whom You have given me, O God,” and so forth. And He heard from the Father: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” To Him be the glory, now and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

ἐγειρόμενον καὶ ὀστέα ἀγαλλιώμενα καὶ ψυχὰς χαιρομένας καὶ ἀνθρώπους πλασσομένους καὶ οὐρανοὺς σχιζομένους καὶ δυνάμεις κραζούσας· "Αρατε πύλας οἱ ἄρχοντες ὑμῶν" καὶ τὰ ἑξῆς. Σήμερον εἶδον τὸν ἐπουράνιον βασιλέα ἀναβαίνοντα, περιεζωσμένον φῶς, ὑπὲρ ἀστραπὴν καὶ ἀκτῖνας, ὑπὲρ ἥλιον καὶ πηγὰς ὑδάτων, ὑπὲρ νεφέλας καὶ πνεῦμα δυνάμεως καὶ ζωὴν αἰώνιον.» Οὗτος γὰρ ἐκρύβη πρῶτον μὲν ἐν κοιλίᾳ σαρκός, ἔπειτα δὲ ἐν κοιλίᾳ τῆς γῆς, ὅπου μὲν ἁγιάζων τοὺς γεννωμένους διὰ τῆς κυήσεως, ὅπου δὲ ζωογονῶν τοὺς τεθανατωμένους διὰ τῆς ἀναστάσεως· «Ἀπέδρα γὰρ ὀδύνη καὶ λύπη καὶ στεναγμός.» «Τίς γὰρ ἔγνω νοῦν θεοῦ, ἢ τίς σύμβουλος αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο», ἀλλ' ἢ ὁ Λόγος ὁ σαρκωθεὶς καὶ ξύλῳ προσηλωθεὶς καὶ ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστὰς καὶ εἰς οὐρανοὺς ὑψωθείς;

6 Αὕτη ἡ ἡμέρα χαρᾶς εὐαγγελισμός· ἐν τῇ γὰρ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ ἀνέστη ὁ κύριος συνεγείρας τὴν τοῦ Ἀδὰμ ἀγέλην· ἐγεννήθη γὰρ διὰ τὸν ἄνθρωπον καὶ ἀνέστη ἐν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ. Σήμερον διὰ τὸν ἀναστάντα παράδεισος ἀνέῳκται καὶ Ἀδὰμ ζωογονεῖται καὶ Εὔα παρηγορεῖται καὶ κλῆσις πληθύνεται καὶ βασιλεία ἑτοιμάζεται καὶ ἄνθρωπος σῴζεται καὶ Χριστὸς προσκυνεῖται· καταπατήσας γὰρ τὸν θάνατον καὶ αἰχμαλωτίσας τὸν τύραννον καὶ σκυλεύσας τὸν ᾅδην, ἀνέβη εἰς οὐρανούς, ὡς βα σιλεὺς νενικηκώς, ὡς ἡγεμὼν ἔνδοξος, ὡς ἡνίοχος ἄλειπτος, λέ-γων τῷ Πατρί· «Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καὶ τὰ παιδία ἅ μοι δέδωκας, ὦ θεός», καὶ τὰ ἑξῆς. Καὶ ἤκουσεν παρὰ τοῦ Πατρός· «Κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου.» Αὐτῷ ἡ δόξα, νῦν καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων. Ἀμήν.
