295 18. ποστ ἔλεγεν λαββει ξοδεχ· about Amalek. And after such things Amalek came in thousands and myriads to join battle with the Hebrews, who were unarmed. Moses went up on the mountain, and stretched out his hands in prayer. And when Moses raised his hands on the mountain, he routed Amalek, but when he grew weary and lowered them, Amalek routed the Jews. Therefore, Aaron and Hur, noticing this, came, one on the right and the other on the left, and they supported the hands of Moses high up, and thus in the end Amalek was destroyed. And that of David was fulfilled, "1In the works of his 296 hands the sinner was caught."

2 And when the Jews reached the desert of Kadesh, the serpents were devouring them, and they were dying. Then Moses, having nailed the bronze serpent crosswise on high, the biting serpents stopped; but also as many as were bitten by the serpents, by gazing upon the bronze serpent were delivered from death. 387 9. ηυξ ρεφερ θυαε π. 211 ιμα ποστ ὑποκείμενον ηαβετ φ· and he did not know her until she had brought forth her firstborn son.
