He after the captivity, in the return to Jerusalem, in the time of Darius
king of the Persians, was in the second year of his reign, in the sixth month. The word of the Lord came by his hand, and he prophesies to Zerubbabel, and to Joshua son of Jozadak, and to the people 22.1268 concerning the building of Jerusalem; and he also prophesies concerning the passing away of the shadows, and concerning the calling of the nations.
ZECHARIAH SON OF IDDO, 11.
And this one also prophesies in the second year of Darius. But in the eighth month a word
of the Lord came to him, and an angel of the Lord spoke in him, and he prophesies to the fathers, and to Jerusalem. And he sees many and various visions, and prophesies concerning the Savior through many things, and signifying that he would come upon a donkey and a colt of a beast of burden.
MALACHI, 12.
And this one also was after the captivity in the time of Darius. And an oracle of the word
of the Lord by the hand of his angel against Israel he prophesies. And he reproaches Israel for their transgressions, and finds fault for the neglect of the tithes, and of fellowship toward the poor; and he prophesies concerning the day of judgment, and the epiphany of the Savior, and signifies that Elijah would be sent before the coming of the Savior.
ISAIAH SON OF AMOZ.
This one and Hosea, as I said before, were contemporary with each other; for this one also
was in the time of Uzziah, and Jotham, and Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah; and having seen a vision he prophesies against Judea, and against Jerusalem. And the word of the Lord came to him; and the greater part of his prophecy is a gospel concerning the incarnate coming of the Word of God, and of the things which he would suffer for our sakes. And he prophesies also against these nations: against Babylon, against the foreigners, against Damascus, a vision of Egypt, a vision of Idumea, a vision of the valley of Zion, a vision of Tyre, a vision of the four-footed beasts in the desert. And he also recounts the attack of Sennacherib, and the arrogance of the Rabshakeh, and their fall and destruction; and that Hezekiah, having fallen ill, and being about to die, having prayed, received an extension of fifteen years. And he prophesies also to eunuchs, and to the nations in the end concerning the day of judgment.
JEREMIAH THE SON OF HILKIAH,
Of the priests. This one, as I said before, and Zephaniah were contemporary with each other;
but this one remained until Jehoiakim, and until the eleventh year of Zedekiah king of Judah, until the captivity of the people. And the word of God came to him, as the word of the Lord came to him; and he rebukes the injustices of Jerusalem through many things; and he prophesies against Jerusalem, and concerning the drought; and against the nations Elam and concerning the coming of the king of Babylon, to cut off the land of Egypt; and against Babylon; and
