10 Concerning not demanding a reward for finding. Those who fulfill the commandment must fulfill it apart from all sordid gain, demanding neither rewards for information, nor rewards for saving, nor rewards for finding, or by whatever name they call these things.

11 Concerning the stages of repentance. Weeping is outside the gate of the house of prayer, where the sinner must stand and beg the faithful who enter to pray for him. Hearing is within the gate in the narthex, where the sinner must stand until the catechumens and then depart; for, it says, after hearing the Scriptures and the teaching, let him be cast out and not be deemed worthy of prayer. Prostration is so that, standing inside the gate of the church, he may depart with the catechumens. Standing is so that he may stand together with the faithful and not depart with the catechumens. Lastly is the participation in the holy things.

10 Περὶ τοῦ μὴ ἀπαιτεῖν εὕρητρα. Τοὺς δὲ τὴν ἐντολὴν πληροῦντας ἐκτὸς αἰσχροκερδείας πάσης πλη ροῦν δεῖ, μήτε μήνυτρα ἢ σῶστρα ἢ εὕρητρα ἢ ᾧ ὀνόματι ταῦτα κα λοῦσιν, ἀπαιτοῦντας.

11 Περὶ τῶν τόπων τῆς μετανοίας. Ἡ πρόσκλαυσις ἔξω τῆς πύλης τοῦ εὐκτηρίου ἐστίν, ἔνθα ἑστῶτα τὸν ἁμαρτάνοντα χρὴ τῶν εἰσιόντων δεῖσθαι πιστῶν ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ εὔχεσθαι. Ἡ ἀκρόασις ἔνδοθι τῆς πύλης ἐν τῷ νάρθηκι, ἔνθα ἑστάναι χρὴ τὸν ἡμαρτηκότα ἕως τῶν κατηχουμένων καὶ ἐντεῦθεν ἐξέρχεσθαι· ἀκούων γάρ, φησί, τῶν γραφῶν καὶ τῆς διδασκαλίας ἐκβαλλέσθω καὶ μὴ ἀξιούσθω προσευχῆς. Ἡ δὲ ὑπόπτωσις, ἵνα ἔσωθεν τῆς πύλης τοῦ ναοῦ ἱστάμενος, μετὰ τῶν κατηχουμένων ἐξέρχηται. Ἡ σύστασις, ἵνα συνίσταται τοῖς πιστοῖς καὶ μὴ ἐξέρχηται, μετὰ τῶν κατηχουμένων. Τελευταῖον δὲ ἡ μέθεξις τῶν ἁγιασμάτων.
