Crown the emperor with victory, award peace to the world, receive the sweat of those who have gathered, receive the city supplicating you; it has sent to you an embassy of every age.
Old men and youths, we fall down before your tomb; virgins and young men, we embrace your body; infants, like sparrows, gaze at you with open mouths; do not overlook such a spectacle; do not send our labors away empty; give us a worthy reward for our sweat. We ask nothing great of you; what you have, we ask; what you give, we seek; what you wish to see, we desire: the barbarian defeated, Arius driven out, the Emperor crowned, the world converted, Christ exalted, and hearing from the whole world together, My Lord and my God; to whom is the glory, honor, and power unto the ages of ages. Amen.
