I gave the gift without being asked, and after giving it you bring a charge? You healed invisibly, and after the cure you convene a court? Ἐχαρίσω μὴ αἰτηθεὶς, καὶ μετὰ τὸ δοῦναι ἐγκαλεῖς; ἀοράτως ἐθεράπευσας, καὶ μετὰ τὴν ἴασιν δικαστήριον συγκροτεῖς; Ναὶ, φησίν· οἶδα τήν με συλήσασαν, οὐκ ἀγνοῶ τὴν εὐδοκίμως λῃστεύσασαν, βούλομαι δὲ ταύτην εἰς μέσον ἐλθεῖν, ἵνα γένηται κήρυξ ἧς ἐπέτυχε χάριτος. Παρ' αὐτῆς γὰρ οὕτως ἡδέως συληθεὶς, τὴν αὐτῆς δωρεὰν ἐπὶ πάντων κυρῶσαι προῄρημαι· Θάρσει, θύγατερ, ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέ σε. Ἔχε, φησὶν, ὅπερ ἔκλεψας εὐφυῶς· κράτει, γύναι, ὅπερ ἥρπασας ἀφανῶς· κτῆσαι κτῆσιν γνησίαν, ἥν σοι παρέσχεν ἡ πίστις· ἀντὶ γὰρ δούλης θυγάτηρ, ἀντὶ μεμιαμμένης ἠλειμμένη σήμερον ὠνομάσθης· Ἴσθι ὑγιὴς ἀπὸ τῆς μάστιγός σου. Ὁρᾷς, ἀγαπητὲ, πόσα δύναται πίστις, πῶς ἐν μιᾷ ῥοπῇ θαύματα ἤνυσεν; σιωπῇ τὴν τρέμουσαν παραθαρσύνουσα, τὸν ἰατρὸν ἐκδυσωπήσασα.

Οὕτως ἡ ἐξ ἐθνῶν Ἐκκλησία, τὴν αἱμόῤῥουν ζηλώσασα, καὶ πίστει τῷ ∆εσπότῃ σιωπῇ προσπελάσασα, τὴν μυσαρὰν τῶν νομικῶν αἱμάτων ἀνεστόμωσε πηγὴν, καὶ θυγάτηρ κληθεῖσα πολλῶν ὑπάρχει μήτηρ, μάρτυρα κεκτημένη τὸν πάλαι βοήσαντα· Ὅτι πολλὰ τὰ τέκνα τῆς ἐρήμου μᾶλλον ἢ τῆς ἐχούσης τὸν ἄνδρα· λέγω δὴ τῆς συναγωγῆς, ἧς ἀνὴρ ὁ νόμος, ἀρχισυνάγωγος, ∆εσπότην σήμερον εἰς τὴν ἔγερσιν καλῶν τῆς τελευτησάσης παιδός. Ἀλλὰ τῆς ὥρας ὠθούσης τοῦ κατ' αὐτὴν θαύματος χρεώστην ἐπαγγέλλομαι, τὸν πλουτοδότην Κύριον προσκαθιστῶν ὑμῖν ἔγγυον· ᾧ ἡ δόξα πρέπει εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων. Ἀμήν.
