Homily on the meeting of the Lord

lovers of Christ and lovers of God. to the meeting of the Lord and Master, let us all go to meet Him joyfully and pure, not according to the law, but

lovers of Christ and lovers of God. to the meeting of the Lord and Master, let us all go to meet Him joyfully and pure, not according to the law, but spiritually, not delighting in the belly, but leaping in the spirit, not drunk with wine, but fervent in the spirit. Thus today let us joyfully and brightly adorn our lamps. Thus, as sons of light, let us bring the candles to the true light, Christ, because a light for the revelation of the Gentiles has appeared to the world. Therefore, as lights from light, let us shine brighter than snow, being formed whiter than milk, being made more brilliant than sapphire stone, flying up to the heavens more unspotted than doves, thus let us go forth in clouds to meet God. 16 Let all of us today and always shout the things of the feast. Let us dance with angels. Let us be illumined with shepherds. Let us worship with the magi. Let us celebrate with Bethlehem. Let us go to meet with Zion. Let us be sanctified with the temple. Let us rejoice with the virgin, magnifying Him. Let us with Joseph offer our soul and body as two turtledoves. Let us embrace Christ with Simeon, and let us give thanks with Anna. So that we may be within the eternal good things by the grace and compassion and love for mankind of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power with the Father and the Holy Spirit, unto the ages of ages. Amen.
