re-forming dissolved dust? who is the one waking a dead man as from sleep? who is the one breaking down gates of adamant? who is the one crying, Lazarus, come forth? the voice indeed is human-sounding, and the power is divine power. Who is the one calling? it is not a man; the form indeed is of a man, but the voice is of God. Let us send Lazarus forth, let us bring him up quickly, lest the one calling him come down here, lest while this one delays, the one calling him come down here. The dead began to be shaken and to be moved. Let us lose one, he says, and not lose all.

Thus Lazarus leaped forth from the bosom of Hades, praising and blessing and glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ. Here let us seal the discourse; picking up the palm branches, let us go out to meet the Lord, crying and saying: Hosanna, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. To him be the glory and the power unto the ages.

ἀναπλάττων διαλελυμένον χοῦν; τίς ὁ ἐξυπνίζων νεκρὸν ὡς ἐξ ὕπνου; τίς ὁ ἀδαμαντίνας πύλας διαῤῥήσσων; τίς ὁ βοῶν, Λάζαρε, δεῦρο ἔξω; ἡ φωνὴ μὲν ἀνθρωπόφθογγος, καὶ ἡ δύναμις θεοδύναμος. Τίς ὁ καλῶν; οὐκ ἔστιν ἄνθρωπος· τὸ μὲν σχῆμα ἀνθρώπου, ἡ δὲ φωνὴ Θεοῦ. Προπέμψωμεν Λάζαρον, ὀξέως αὐτὸν ἀναφορήσωμεν, μὴ κατέλθῃ ὧδε ὁ καλῶν αὐτὸν, μὴ βραδύνοντος τούτου ὧδε κατέλθῃ ὁ καλῶν. Ἤρξαντο σαλεύεσθαι οἱ νεκροὶ καὶ κινεῖσθαι. Ἕνα ζημιωθῶμεν, φησὶ, καὶ μὴ ἅπαντας ἀπολέσωμεν.

Οὕτως ὁ Λάζαρος ἐξεπήδησεν ἐκ τοῦ κόλπου τοῦ ᾅδου αἰνῶν καὶ εὐλογῶν καὶ δοξάζων τὸν Κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν. Ἐνταῦθα τὸν λόγον σφραγίσωμεν· τὰ βαΐα τῶν φοινίκων ἀναλεγόμενοι εἰς ἀπάντησιν τοῦ Κυρίου ἐξέλθωμεν βοῶντες καὶ λέγοντες· Ὡσαννὰ, εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου. Αὐτῷ ἡ δόξα καὶ τὸ κράτος εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας.
