is killed. And the whole multitude of the congregation of the sons of Israel shall slay it; for unbelieving Israel has become guilty of that precious blood, the one slaying in the past, the other disbelieving until now; wherefore the divine spirit testifies against them and cries out, saying: "Your hands are full of blood." And the blood upon the lintel as upon the church, and upon the two doorposts as upon the two peoples.

25.2 For the savior does not deny having been sent first to you, O Israel; "For

γὰρ ἀπεστάλην, φησί, πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ἀλλὰ πρὸς τὰ πρόβατα τὰ ἀπολωλότα οἴκου Ἰσραήλ"· ἐγὼ δὲ ὡς κυνίδιον ἀλλοτρίᾳ τραπέζῃ παρε καθεζόμην, τὸν μὲν ἄρτον μήπω φαγεῖν δυνάμενος, τὰς δὲ ψιχίας τὰς ἐκπιπτούσας ἀναλέγων παράσιτος ἀλλοτρίας τροφῆς· ἐπειδὴ δὲ οὐκ ἔγνως τὸ μάννα τὸ ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν, εἰς ἐμὲ ὁ ἄρτος διὰ τῆς πίστεως μετετέθη καὶ ὁ ἀντὶ κυνὸς υἱὸς ἤδη γιγνόμενος [...].

26.1 Ἐν νυκτὶ δὲ τὰ κρέα ἐσθίεται· ἔδυ γὰρ τὸ τοῦ κόσμου φῶς ἐπὶ τῷ μεγάλῳ

σώματι τοῦ Χριστοῦ· "Λάβετε, φάγετε, τοῦτο μού ἐστι τὸ σῶμα". Τὰ δὲ κρέα ὀπτὰ πυρί· ἔμπυρον γὰρ λογικὸν σῶμα τοῦ Χριστοῦ· "Πῦρ ἦλθον βαλεῖν εἰς τὴν γῆν, καὶ τί ἤθελον, εἰ ἤδη ἀνήφθη;". Οὐκ ὠμὸν τὸ κρέας, ἵνα εὐκατέργαστος ᾖ ὁ λόγος καὶ εὐπρόσφορος καὶ εὐπαράδεκτος· οὐδὲ ἐν ὕδατι ἡψημένον, ἵνα μὴ ὑγρὸς ᾖ μηδὲ ὑδατώδης ὁ λόγος μηδὲ ἐκλελυμένος. 30.1 Ὀστέον δὲ οὐ συντρίψετε ἀπ' αὐτοῦ, ἵνα γνωστὴ ᾖ ἡ ἀνάστασις ἡ μετὰ

σώματος· "Βάλε" γάρ φησι "τοὺς δακτύλους σου εἰς τοὺς τῶν ἥλων τύπους, ἵνα γνῷς ὅτι πνεῦμα σάρκα καὶ ὀστέα οὐκ ἔχει". Ἄζυμα μετὰ πικρίδων ἔδεσθε· πικρὰ γάρ σοι ἢ πικρῶν ἔργων τὰ μυστήρια· "Ἡ γῆ ὑμῶν ἔρημος, αἱ πόλεις ὑμῶν πυρίκαυστοι, τὴν χώραν ὑμῶν ἀλλότριοι ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν κατεσθίουσι, καὶ ἠρήμω ται κατεστραμμένη ὑπὸ λαῶν ἀλλοτρίων". Ἔδεσθε μετὰ σπουδῆς τὸ πάσχα· ἐγρηγορέναι γὰρ καὶ ἐπινενηφέναι δεῖ ἅπαντα τὸν μέλλοντα προσιέναι τῷ μεγάλῳ σώματι. Αἱ ὀσφύες ὑμῶν περιεζωσμέναι· παυσάσθω σαν αἱ διὰ γενέσεως πηγαὶ λελυμέναι, <αἱ> σαρκῶν περιπλο καὶ καὶ αἱ ῥυπαρώδεις ἡδοναί. Τὰ ὑποδήματα ὑμῶν ἐν τοῖς ποσίν· ὀρθοτο μοῦσαι βάσεις, στηρίγματα ἀχώλευτα· ἀληθείας γὰρ ῥιζώματα.

34.2 Τὰ ὑποδήματα ὑμῶν ἐν τοῖς ποσὶν ὑμῶν, ἃ Μωϋσῆς μὲν ὑπελύσατο,

Ἰησοῦς δὲ ὑπεδήσατο· "Λῦσαι" γάρ φησι "τὸ ὑπόδημα τῶν ποδῶν σου", ἵνα τὸ παρερχόμενον τοῦ νόμου δηλωθῇ, "Οὗ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς τὸν ἱμάντα τῶν ὑποδημάτων αὐτοῦ λῦσαι", ἵνα τὸ πάντοθεν περιεσφιγμένον τοῦ λόγου μηνυθῇ. 35.1 Αἱ βακτηρίαι ὑμῶν ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν ὑμῶν, τῆς θείας δυνάμεως τὰ σημεῖα, τῆς λογικῆς ἰσχύος τὰ ἐρείσματα, ῥάβδος ἡ διὰ Μωϋσέως, ῥάβδος ἡ διὰ Ἀαρών, ῥάβδος ἡ καρυΐνη, ῥάβδος ἡ τεμοῦσα βάθη θαλάσσης, <ῥάβδος> ἡ γλυκάνασα πικρίαν πηγῶν, ῥάβδος ἐφ' ἣν τὰ ἑπτὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἅγια ἀνεπαύσατο τοῦ Θεοῦ· "Πνεῦμα σοφίας καὶ συνέσεως,
