a widow, and she was taking care of many children, and she saw a dangerous famine and expected death, and she was about to receive an unknown man and the one who had brought on the famine, and not even so did she spare the handful of meal; but we 51.347 who have partaken of prophecy, and enjoy divine teachings, and have much to philosophize about the things to come, and not even seeing an impending famine, and possessing much more than the woman, what defense will we be able to put forward, sparing what we have, and being unsparing of our own salvation? Therefore, that we may flee 51.348 those harsh punishments, let us show all compassion to the poor, so that we too may be deemed worthy of the good things to come, by the grace and loving-kindness of our Lord Jesus Christ, with whom be glory to the Father, together with the Holy Spirit, unto the ages of ages. Amen.
