For because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. That he who is disciplined for his first sins, and deemed worthy of remission, if he sins again, prepares for himself a worse judgment of wrath than the former. Chapter 2. JOHN. Behold, you have been made well; sin no more, lest something worse happen to you. That, when some have fallen under the judgment of God's wrath, the rest must be disciplined by fear. Chapter 3. LUKE. Now there were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, 'Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all 31.721 the other Galileans, because they suffered such things? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who live in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. ACTS. And Ananias hearing these words, fell down and died. And great fear came upon all who heard these things. 1 CORINTHIANS. Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. That someone is often handed over to the very works of wickedness for punishment on account of pre-existing impiety. Chapter 4. ROMANS. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper. 2 THESSALONIANS. Because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved, for this reason God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false. That it is not the multitude of sinners that persuades God, but the one who pleases him, whether it be a man or a woman. Chapter 5. LUKE. Truly I say to you, that there were many widows in the days of Elijah in Israel, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land; and Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 1 CORINTHIANS. For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them, and the rock was Christ. Nevertheless, with most of them God was not well pleased; for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
RULE 12. That all contradiction, even if it arises from a friendly and devout disposition
alienates the one who contradicts from the Lord; and every word of the Lord must be received with all full assurance. 31.724
Chapter 1. JOHN. And he began to wash the disciples' feet, and
to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. So he came to Simon Peter, and he said to him, 'Lord, are you washing my feet?' Jesus answered and said to him, 'What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.' Peter said to him, 'You shall never wash my feet.' Jesus answered him, 'If I do not wash you, you have no part with me.' That one must not follow the traditions of men to the neglect of the commandment of God. Chapter 2. MARK. Then the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, 'Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?' But he answered and said to them, 'Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:'
