it is not in its nature for accounts about the same matter to be true. 202.21 How then did your great and lofty mind endure not to use its customary boldness for the correction of so great an evil? 202.22 But even if this has not happened before, now at least let your inimitable perfection in virtue arise and teach the most pious emperor that there will be no profit from his remaining zeal for the Churches, if such an evil should prevail for the destruction of the sound faith through their boldness.

λόγους περὶ τοῦ αὐτοῦ πράγματος ἀληθεῖς εἶναι φύσιν οὐκ ἔχει. 202.21 Πῶς οὖν ὑπέμεινέ σου ἡ μεγαλοφυὴς καὶ ὑψηλὴ διάνοια μὴ χρήσασθαι τῇ συνήθει παρρησίᾳ εἰς διόρθωσιν τοῦ τοσούτου κακοῦ; 202.22 Ἀλλ' εἰ καὶ μὴ πρότερον τοῦτο γέγονε, νῦν γοῦν διαναστήτω ἡ ἀμίμητός σου ἐπ' ἀρετῇ τελειότης καὶ διδαξάτω τὸν εὐσεβέστατον βασιλέα ὅτι οὐδὲν κέρδος ἔσται τῆς λοιπῆς αὐτοῦ περὶ τὰς Ἐκκλησίας σπουδῆς, εἰ τὸ τοιοῦτο κακὸν ἐπὶ καθαιρέσει τῆς ὑγιαινούσης πίστεως διὰ τῆς παρρησίας αὐτῶν κατισχύσει.
