David, "The Lord will give a word to those who preach the gospel with great power." And again, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach peace!"

16. Concerning the unbelief of the Jews, and concerning the Church of the nations.

Isaiah from the person of God, "Neither have you known, nor have you understood, nor from the beginning

have I opened your ears; for I knew that you would indeed be disobedient." And again, "Great is his name among the nations and in every place incense is offered to my name, and a pure sacrifice." Micah, "And in the last days the mountain of the Lord shall be manifest, prepared on the tops of the mountains, and it will be exalted above the hills; and peoples shall hasten to it, and many nations shall go, and they shall say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and they will enlighten us with his ways; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." Jeremiah, "And the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth; behold, I have this day set you over nations, and kings to root out, and to cut down, and to destroy, and to build up, and to plant." And if 46.225 these things are about Jeremiah, what kingdoms did he root out, or what nations did he destroy? But it is spoken of the Lord, who rooted out from every soul that believes in him the kingdom of the Adversary, who overthrew the buildings of wickedness, and of evil doctrines, planting better things. David, "Deliver me from the contentions of the people; you will make me the head of nations. A people I have not known has served me; at the hearing of the ear they obeyed me; strange children have lied to me; strange children have grown old and have become lame in their paths." Moses from the person of God to Abraham, "And in you all the ends of the earth shall be blessed." And again, "I will turn my face away from them, and I will show what shall be to them in the last days, for it is a perverse generation. Sons in whom there is no faith; they have provoked me to jealousy with that which is not God, they have angered me with their idols, and I will provoke them to jealousy with those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will anger them." And elsewhere, "He shall give," it says, "the wicked for his burial." Isaiah, "I was made manifest to those who did not seek me, I was found by those who did not ask for me. (I said, Behold, I am present to a nation, which has not called upon my name.)" David, "I have become a stranger to my brothers, and a foreigner to my mother's sons." But concerning the nations he says, "I will declare your name to my brothers, in the midst of the Church I will sing praise to you." Concerning the Jews, "Because of you my name is blasphemed continually among the nations." Malachi, "I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord Almighty." (But concerning the Nations, "For from the rising of the sun even to its setting my name has been glorified among the Nations, says the Lord Almighty;") "and in every place incense is brought to my name, and my name is great among the Nations, says the Lord Almighty." (But concerning the Jews he says,) "But you profane it." David, "Ask of me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession." Moses, "Let me blot out this people, and I will give you a nation great, and much more, 46.228 than this one." Isaiah concerning the Jews, "Hear the word of the Lord, you sons of Sodom; give ear to the law of God, you people of Gomorrah." And again, "Your Sabbaths, and your new moons my soul hates; and your prayers I will not accept; wash yourselves, become clean; your hands are polluted with blood." And that the law clearly forbids celebrating outside Jerusalem and the temple, according to, "Praise is fitting for you, O God, in Zion; and to you a vow shall be paid in Jerusalem," it is written, "That each one will worship the Lord from his own place." And again the Prophet, "Great is his name among the Nations, and in
