Everyone who depicts me, let him also desire to depict Christ, since he is intertwined with me

in suffering; for he who does not depict him, even if he depicts me, is my enemy and destroyer.

60 One-line verse I bear a torch for mortals and burn those who rule in darkness.

61 On the Forerunner I am an icon of the revered Forerunner and those who venerate me with longing

worthily, as giving honor to him, I keep safe from the error of heretics.

62 On Saint John the Theologian

Seeing you depicted, son of Thunder, lightning of the Word, I will enlighten minds; for you, having lit a torch of ineffable words, succeed in freeing the world from the darkness of error.

63 On Saint Paul the Apostle

Rejoice, great vessel of the knowledge of God, from which all draw divine things eagerly;

for having snatched the whole world from error, you went up to the heights, having reached the third heaven.

64 On Saint Zachariah

You, having brought to light the greatest of the prophets, are proclaimed a prophet of God and a priest; and offering a divine fruit to the Master, you are sacrificed by the sword before the table of the Lord.

65 On Saint Dionysius

Speaking much of divine things, thrice-blessed one, you mystically

describe the angels; and concluding every hierarchy, you fill the world from there with the breadth of your doctrines.

66 On Saint Basil

You have shone with the radiance of your brilliant life and you brighten the world with deeds

and words; and having received the keys yourself like a new Peter, you are the guardian of the whole church.

67 On Saint Gregory the Theologian

Thundering divine things with the cry of your doctrines, you have truly made the subcelestial realm resound,

blessed one; and having firmly made foolish all heresies, you have established the world in your words. 68 On Saint Gregory the Wonderworker As a sun, having shone in life
