Third again, the air and land were covered with gnats. 476 And a dog-fly appeared fourthly, suddenly. Fifth, a grievous plague afflicted the four-footed animals. Boils on the bodies of men, a sixth woe. Seventh, it rained hail in the midst of fire, an unmixed storm. Eighth, all green things were destroyed by the locust. Ninth, night covered the land of Egypt And the death of the first-born was the tenth torment. XV. The Decalogue of Moses. And God inscribed the ten laws once on stone tablets; but you, inscribe them for me on your heart. You shall not know another God, since reverence is for one alone. On the miracles of the prophet Elijah and Elisha. So many are the miracles of Elijah the Tishbite. First he was fed by ravens; and second he fed abundantly a widow of Zarephath, with small remnants of oil and flour; Whose son he also raised from the dead with his breaths. Having sanctified the sacrifice with a strange fire and strange things, then he endured without tasting food for many days He utterly burned up two captains of fifty. Φθοράν τ' ἐπέσχεν ἐκ πόας, καὶ πλείοσιν Ἤμυνε λιμὸν ἐνδεεστέρᾳ τροφῇ. Ναιμᾶν δὲ λέπρας ἐκκαθήρας τὸν Σύρον, Πέμπει Γιεζεῖ τὴν νόσον· εἶτ' ἀξίνην Ἔπλευσε νώτοις ἐκ βυθῶν Ἰορδάνου· Σύρων δὲ τοὺς ἕλκοντας ὄψεις ἀμβλύνας Ἔδωκεν ἐχθροῖς· εἶτα τῷ στρατῷ κόρον Προεῖτο, λεπρῶν ἔργα. Καὶ νεκρὸς νεκρὸν Ἤγειρεν, ἐγγὺς συντεθέντων ὀστέων. ΙΖʹ. Ἐπίγραμμα εἰς τὸ μαρτύριον Ἠλίου τὸ καλούμενον Χηρεῖον. Αὕτη, ξένε, καὶ Σαρεπτὰ τῆς Σιδωνίας, 480 Οὗτος δὲ χήρας πύργος, ἣ φιλοξένως Θεοῦ προφήτην Ἠλίαν τὸν Θεσβίτην, Λιμοῦ κακοῦντος τὰς πόλεις, ἐδέξατο· Ἧ καὶ μικρὸν ἦν ἔλαιον ἐν τῷ καψάκῃ, Καὶ δρὰξ ἀλεύρων ὑδρίᾳ κεκρυμμένος.
