30. To one of the disciples, that the divine fire of the Spirit, having touched the souls purified through tears and repentance, grasps them and purifies them more, illuminating the parts of them darkened by sin, and healing the wounds brings them to a complete healing, so that they outshine with divine beauty. 31. Concerning theology; and that the divine nature is unsearchable and in every way
incomprehensible to men. 32. That the glorious of the earth and the pompous with wealth wander about the shadow
of things seen, but those who have despised present things come to be in unerring participation of the Divine Spirit. 33. Concerning theology; and that those who have guarded what is according to the image trample upon the
evil powers of the ruler of darkness, but the others, whose life is subject to passion, are held and ruled by him. 34. That the union of the All-Holy Spirit with purified
souls occurs in clear perception, that is, in full knowledge and, in those in whom it occurs, it makes them luminous, similar to itself, and light. 35. That all the saints, being illumined, are enlightened and the glory of
God they behold, as it is permitted for human nature to see God. 36. Thanksgiving for the exile and the tribulations, which he underwent in the
persecution against him. 37. (29) Supplication and prayer of the same to God for His
sake of help. 38. Concerning theology; and that the intellect, having been purified from the matter of the passions,
immaterially beholds the immaterial and invisible One. 39. That the longing and love for God surpasses every
love and every human longing; and the intellect of those being purified, having been dipped in the light of God, is wholly deified and is thenceforth called the intellect of Christ. 40. Confession of the grace of the gifts of God; and how the father writing these things
was energized by the Holy Spirit; and teaching from God, as to what one must do to attain the salvation of those who are being saved. 41. Thanksgiving to God for the benefactions that have come from him
and a request to learn, for what reason those who have become perfect are permitted to be tempted by demons; and teaching and an outline concerning those renouncing the world, spoken by God. 42. That those who from this point on have already been united to God through participation in the Holy Spirit,
when they depart from this life, will be with him thenceforth for ages; but if not, then the opposite will happen then to those who are otherwise disposed here.
