Judas was a temple-robber, stealing the money dedicated to God. 403 {3Jο 12, 7}3To reprove the senseless Judas, he mentioned the burial. What he says is this: wait a little and I will depart. He defends the woman, so that he might not seem to prefer
himself over the poor. 404 {3Jο 12, 7-8}3By saying "let her alone," he refutes the hypocrisy of Judas who was finding fault with things worthy of praise. Since the expense of the myrrh was not for luxury, but for a mystical need, he defends Mary, even if she was ignorant of the economy of the mystery.
