hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, just, holy, disciplined, holding firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able both to give instruction in sound doctrine and to rebuke those who contradict it. That one must not be hasty in ordinations, nor approach them inconsiderately; for it is not without danger to approve the unqualified; but one caught in some sin must be exposed, so that he may not share in the sin, nor the rest stumble, but rather may learn to fear. Chapter 2. 1 TIMOTHY. Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others. 1 TIMOTHY. Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses. As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. That one who has been chosen must not of himself go forth to the preaching, but await the time of God's good pleasure, and begin to preach when he is permitted, and preach to those to whom he may be sent. Chapter 3. MATTHEW. These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, saying, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” MATTHEW. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, saying to him, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” But he answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” JOHN. For I came from God and I am here. I have not come of my own accord, but he sent me. ACTS. Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews only. ROMANS. Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Gospel 31.821 of God. ROMANS. And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? 1 TIMOTHY. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope. That he who is called to the preaching of the Gospel must obey immediately, and not delay. Chapter 4. LUKE. And He said to another, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” But the Lord said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” GALATIANS. But when God, who had set me apart from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me, so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. That one must not teach other doctrines. Chapter 5. JOHN. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. And after a little: I am the door of the sheep. All who came are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. GALATIANS. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. 1 TIMOTHY. If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing, and so forth. That it is necessary to teach the faithful all that was commanded by the Lord in the Gospel and through the apostles, and whatever things are consequent to these. Chapter 6. MATTHEW. Go, make disciples of all nations,
