baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. ACTS. And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and 31.824 elders which were at Jerusalem. 1 TIMOTHY. These things teach and exhort. TO TITUS. But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine. That he who has been entrusted with the word of the Lord's teaching, if he is silent about any of the necessary things for pleasing God, is guilty of the blood of those in peril, either by the doing of forbidden things, or also for the lack of things that ought to be set right. Chapter 7. LUKE. Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. ACTS. And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was constrained by the word, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles. ACTS. Wherefore I testify to you this day, that I am pure from your blood. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. That it is necessary also, concerning those things not defined by command in Scripture, to exhort each one to what is better. Chapter 8. MATTHEW. For there are eunuchs, who were so born from their mother's womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. 1 CORINTHIANS. Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, that it is good for a man so to be. Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife, and the rest. That it is not permitted to impose a necessity on others for things which one has not himself achieved. Chapter 9. LUKE. And woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. That it is necessary for the one presiding in the word to be set before others as a model of all that is good, accomplishing first what he teaches. 31.825 Chapter 10. MATTHEW. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart. JOHN. So when he had washed the feet of his disciples, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me, Master, and, Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that, as I have done to you, you also should do to one another. ACTS. I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak. 1 CORINTHIANS. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 1 TIMOTHY. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, and the rest. That it is necessary for the one presiding in the word not to be anxious about his own achievements, but to know that the improvement of those entrusted to him is the proper and special work of the care committed to him. Chapter 11. MATTHEW. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. JOHN. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of the Father who sent me. And this is the will of him that sent me, that
