Then nineteenth, God, through a whirlwind and cloud saying to Job "who is this that hides counsel from me," and the things of his glory and strength and majesty. Then twentieth, again Job, saying, "I have spoken once, but I will not add a second time." Then twenty-first, again God rebukes Job saying, "No, but gird your loins like a man." And he indicates to him the 1.126 presumption of the power of the evil one, and how divine help overcomes him, and that you might be shown righteous. Then twenty-second, again Job saying that before I heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now having rather heeded your words I consider myself earth and ashes. Then twenty-third, a rebuke from the Lord God to the three friends of Job, commanding them to sacrifice to God for their lawlessness and to ask from Job a prayer and forgiveness for their lawlessness. And Job was fifth from Abraham, from the race of Esau, a kinsman of Jethro the father-in-law of Moses; and the fifth genealogy is taken thus, Abraham, Esau, Reuel, Zerah, Job. In the times of the previously mentioned kings of Egypt, a certain giant-born philosopher appeared in the land of Caria, from the tribe of Japheth, by name Endymion, who, saying mystic prayers at the moon, asked it to learn from it the divine name in a vision. Mouth to mouth I will speak to him, in appearance and not in riddles, and he saw the glory of the Lord. And why were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?" And the anger of the Lord's wrath was upon them. And they went away, and the cloud departed from the tent, and behold, Miriam was leprous, like snow. And Aaron looked at Miriam, and behold, she was leprous. And Aaron said to Moses, "I beseech you, Lord, do not lay this sin upon us, because we have been ignorant in what we have sinned. Let her not become as one dead, like an abortion coming forth from its mother's womb, whose flesh is half consumed." And Moses cried to the Lord, saying, "O God, I beseech you, heal her." And the Lord said to Moses, "If her father 1.128 had but spit in her face, would she not be ashamed? Let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again." And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days, and the people did not set out until Miriam was cleansed. And after this the people set out from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran. And when the people came to Mount Sinai, Miriam the sister of Moses died. Then immediately
