MATTHEW. You are the light of the world. TO THE PHILIPPIANS. Among whom you shine as lights in the world. As salt in the earth, so that those who have fellowship with them might be renewed in the spirit to incorruption. Chap. 10. MATTHEW. You are the salt of the earth. As the word of life, confirming by the deadening to present things the hope of the true life. Chap. 11. TO THE PHILIPPIANS. Among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life, for my boasting in the day of Christ. What sort of people does the Word wish those entrusted with the preaching of the Gospel to be; as apostles. and ministers of Christ, and faithful stewards of the mysteries of God, fulfilling in deed and word without omission only the things ordained by the Lord. Chap. 12. MATTHEW. Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Go and make disciples of all nations. 1 CORINTHIANS. Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God; moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. As heralds of the kingdom of heaven for the destruction of him who has the power of death in sin. Chap. 13. MATTHEW. And as you go, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 2 TIMOTHY. I charge you before God and Jesus Christ, who is to judge the living and the dead by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word of God. As a type or rule of piety for the correction of the uprightness in all things of those who follow the Lord, and a reproof of the perversity of those who are in any way disobedient. Chap. 14. TO THE PHILIPPIANS. Forgetting those things which are behind 31.865, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 1 TIMOTHY. Be an example of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 2 TIMOTHY. Study to show yourself approved unto God; a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. As an eye in the body, discerning of good and evil things, and directing the members of Christ toward the things fitting for each. Chap. 15. MATTHEW. The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light. As shepherds of the sheep of Christ, not refusing even to lay down their life for them in due season, in order to impart to them the Gospel of God. Chap. 10. JOHN. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. ACTS. Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the Church of God. As physicians, in much compassion according to the knowledge of the Lord's teaching healing the passions of souls, for the preservation and continuance of health in Christ. Chap. 17. Chap. 17. MATTHEW. They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. TO THE ROMANS. We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak. As fathers and nurses of their own children, in great affection of love in Christ being well pleased to impart to them not only the Gospel of God, but also their own souls. Chap. 18. JOHN. Little children, yet a little while I am with you. 1 CORINTHIANS. For in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 1 THESSALONIANS. As a nurse cherishes her own children, so being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because you were dear unto us. As co-workers with God, having given their whole selves for the Church, toward only the works worthy of God. 31.868 Chap. 19. 1 CORINTHIANS. For we are labourers together with God: you are God's husbandry, you are God's building. As planters of the vines of God, on the one hand foreign

Ποταποὺς βούλεται εἶναι ὁ λόγος τοὺς πιστευομέ νους τὸ κήρυγμα τοῦ Εὐαγγελίου· ὡς ἀποστόλους. καὶ ὑπηρέτας Χριστοῦ, καὶ οἰκονόμους πιστοὺς μυστηρίων Θεοῦ, μόνα τὰ διατεταγμένα ὑπὸ τοῦ Κυρίου ἀπαραλείπτως ἔργῳ καὶ λόγῳ πληροῦντας. Κεφάλ. ιβʹ. ΜΑΤΘΑΙΟΣ. Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω ὑμᾶς ὡς πρόβατα ἐν μέσῳ λύκων. Πορευθέντες μαθητεύ σατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη. ΠΡΟΣ ΚΟΡ. αʹ. Οὕτως ἡμᾶς λογιζέσθω ἄνθρωπος, ὡς ὑπηρέτας Χριστοῦ, καὶ οἰκονόμους μυστηρίων Θεοῦ· ὃ δὲ λοιπὸν, ζητεῖ ται ἐν τοῖς οἰκονόμοις, ἵνα πιστός τις εὑρεθῇ. Τύπος γίνου τῶν πιστῶν ἐν λόγῳ, ἐν ἀναστροφῇ, ἐν ἀγάπῃ, ἐν πίστει, ἐν ἁγνείᾳ. ΠΡΟΣ ΤΙΜ. βʹ. Σπούδασον σεαυτὸν δόκιμον παραστῆσαι τῷ Θεῷ· ἐργάτην ἀνεπαίσχυντον, ὀρθοτομοῦντα τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας. Ὡς ὀφθαλμὸν ἐν σώματι, διακριτικοὺς μὲν τῶν ἀγα θῶν καὶ τῶν φαύλων, κατευθύνοντας δὲ τὰ μέλη τοῦ Χριστοῦ, πρὸς τὰ ἑκάστῳ ἐπιβάλλοντα Κεφάλ. ιεʹ. ΜΑΤΘΑΙΟΣ. Ὁ λύχνος τοῦ σώματός ἐστιν ὁ ὀφθαλμός· ἐὰν οὖν ᾖ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἁπλοῦς, ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου φωτεινὸν ἔσται. Ὡς ποιμένας προβάτων Χριστοῦ, μηδὲ τὴν ψυχὴν ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν θεῖναι ἐν καιρῷ παραιτουμένους, ὑπὲρ τοῦ μεταδοῦναι αὐτοῖς τὸ Εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Θεοῦ. Κεφάλ. ιʹ. ΙΩΑΝΝΗΣ. Ὁ ποιμὴν ὁ καλὸς τὴν ψυχὴν αὐ τοῦ τίθησιν ὑπὲρ τῶν προβάτων. ΠΡΑΞΕΙΣ. Προσ έχετε οὖν ἑαυτοῖς καὶ παντὶ τῷ ποιμνίῳ, ἐν ᾧ ὑμᾶς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἔθετο ἐπισκόπους, ποι μαίνειν τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ. Ὡς ἰατροὺς, ἐν πολλῇ εὐσπλαγχνίᾳ κατ' ἐπιστήμην τῆς τοῦ Κυρίου διδασκαλίας θεραπεύοντας τὰ πάθη τῶν ψυχῶν, εἰς περιποίησιν τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ ὑγείας καὶ διαμονῆς. Κεφάλ. ιζʹ. Κεφάλ. ιζʹ. ΜΑΤΘΑΙΟΣ. Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ἰσχύοντες ἰατροῦ, ἀλλ' οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες. ΠΡΟΣ ΡΩΜ. Ὀφείλομεν δὲ ἡμεῖς οἱ δυνατοὶ τὰ ἀσθενήματα τῶν ἀδυνάτων βαστάζειν. Ὡς πατέρας καὶ τροφοὺς ἰδίων τέκνων, ἐν πολλῇ διαθέσει τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ ἀγάπης εὐδοκοῦντας μετα δοῦναι αὐτοῖς οὐ μόνον τὸ Εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἀλλὰ καὶ τὰς ἑαυτῶν ψυχάς. Κεφάλ. ιηʹ. ΙΩΑΝΝΗΣ. Τεκνία, ἔτι μικρὸν χρόνον μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰμι. ΠΡΟΣ ΚΟΡ. αʹ. Ἐν γὰρ Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ διὰ τοῦ Εὐαγγελίου ἐγὼ ὑμᾶς ἐγέννησα. ΠΡΟΣ ΘΕΣΣ. αʹ. Ὡς ἐὰν τροφὸς θάλπῃ τὰ ἑαυτῆς τέκνα, οὕτως ἱμειρόμενοι ὑμῶν, εὐδοκοῦμεν μεταδοῦναι ὑμῖν οὐ μόνον τὸ Εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἀλλὰ καὶ τὰς ἑαυτῶν ψυχὰς, διότι ἀγαπητοὶ ἡμῖν ἐγενήθητε. Ὡς Θεοῦ συνεργοὺς, πρὸς μόνα τὰ ἄξια τοῦ Θεοῦ ἔργα ὅλους ἑαυτοὺς ἀποδεδωκότας ὑπὲρ τῆς Ἐκ κλησίας. 31.868 Κεφάλ. ιθʹ. ΠΡΟΣ ΚΟΡ. αʹ. Θεοῦ γάρ ἐσμεν συνεργοί· Θεοῦ γεώργιον, Θεοῦ οἰκοδομή ἐστε.
