to be established as heirs. Having said these things, he commanded those possessed by demons and those afflicted with diseases to be brought to him, and when they were brought, laying his hands on them and praying, he sent them away healed, reminding them and the rest of the crowds to remain there, for as many days as he would be visiting and discoursing. Therefore, when the others had departed, Peter, having bathed in the water-place there with those who wished, commanding a place to be prepared on the ground under some thick foliage of the trees because of the shade, he made each recline according to his worth; and thus we partook of food. Therefore, having blessed and given thanks to God for the refreshment, according to the customary faith of the Hebrews, while there was still much time, he permitted us to ask about what we wished. And yet, though we were twenty, he answered each one who asked in turn. And when evening had already arrived, entering into the very spacious guest-house with him, we all slept there.

κληρονόμοι καταστῆναι. Ταῦτα εἰπὼν ἐκέλευσεν τοὺς δαιμονῶντας καὶ νόσοις ἐγκατειλημ- μένους αὑτῷ προσφέρεσθαι, προσενεχθεῖσι δὲ τὰς χεῖρας ἐπιθεὶς καὶ προσευξάμενος ἀπέλυσεν αὐτοὺς ὑγιαίνοντας, ὑπομιμνήσκων αὐτοὺς καὶ τοὺς λοιποὺς ὄχλους ἐνταῦθα παρεδρεύειν, ὅσων ἂν ἡμερῶν ἐπιδημῶν δια- λέγηται. τῶν οὖν ἄλλων ἀναχωρησάντων ὁ Πέτρος ἐν τῷ ἐκεῖ ὑδροχοείῳ λουσάμενος σὺν τοῖς θελήσασι, χαμαὶ στρωθῆναι κελεύσας ὑπό τινα πυκνὴν τῶν δένδρων κόμην διὰ τὴν σκιάν, κατ' ἀξίαν ἕκαστον κατακλιθῆναι ἐποίησεν· καὶ οὕτως τροφῆς μετελάβομεν. εὐλογήσας οὖν καὶ ἐπευχαριστήσας τῷ θεῷ ἐπὶ τῷ εὐφρανθῆναι κατὰ τὴν Ἑβραίων συνήθη πίστιν, ἔτι πολ- λῆς οὔσης ὥρας, πυνθάνεσθαι ἡμᾶς περὶ ὧν θέλομεν ἐπέτρεψεν. καὶ ὅμως εἴκοσι οὖσιν ἡμῖν ἐν μέρει ἑκάστῳ πυθομένῳ ἐπέλυσεν. ἤδη δὲ ἑσπέρας ἐπικαταλαβούσης εἰς τὸν εὐρύτατον τῆς ξενίας οἶκον εἰσελθόντες ἅμα αὐτῷ ἐκεῖ οἱ πάντες ὑπνώσαμεν.
