he says, time will be spent on this burial; and they will make the day of his utter destruction a notable one. "For the day shall be, he says, to them for a name, in which I shall be glorified, says the Lord Adonai." But they will also, he says, set apart men, so as to go around the land, and to give for burial those who received death while fleeing. 15. And everyone who travels through the land, and passes by, and sees a human bone, will build a marker beside it, until the buriers bury it in the Gai of the polyandrion of Gog. For a long time, he says, they will go about giving the unburied over to burial; and the travelers, if they should find a bone anywhere, gathering stones by it, will make it known to those entrusted with the burying, so that they might also gather those things, and deem them worthy of the customary rites. 10. And the name of the place shall be called 81.1213 fall and polyandrion, and the land shall be cleansed. Having thus foretold these things, he exhorts the birds and the beasts, as if to come to some banquet and feast, since many and countless bodies have been cast down; not as commanding them as rational beings, but persuading the rational, that these things also happen with his consent. And all the nations shall know that for their sins the house of Israel was taken captive, because they dealt treacherously with me, and I turned my face from them, and delivered them into the hands of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword. According to their uncleannesses, and according to their iniquities I did to them, and I turned my face from them. Beholding, he says, the nations the destruction brought upon Gog, they will know that I was also able to bring this punishment upon the Babylonians; but exacting justice from Israel for its impiety and lawlessness, I allowed them to be enslaved, deeming them worthy of no assistance. And this also clearly teaches us, that immediately after the return the revolt of these nations took place. "For all the nations shall know, he says, that for their sins the whole house of Israel was taken captive." For all, seeing their sudden destruction, using right reasoning will understand that, paying the penalty for their sins, they endured that captivity. And what follows also bears witness to these things; 81.1216 25-27. For this reason, thus says the Lord Adonai; Now I will turn back the captivity of Jacob, and I will have mercy on the house of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name. And they shall bear their dishonor, and all their injustices, which they committed against me when they were settled on their own land in peace, and there shall be none to make them afraid. When I have brought them back from the nations, and have led them out of their lands.
