and will fervently repent and ask to be delivered from the most terrible bonds? Truly everyone who sees these things will both groan and lament and will desire to follow Christ Who shone forth the light. (245) Therefore, doing these things, as I said, and falling down before the One Who shone—Look well for me at what I shall say!—the One Who shone touches my bonds and wounds with His hands; and where His hand touches or His finger draws near, the bonds are immediately loosed, the worms die, and the wounds fall away, and with them falls the filth and the little stain of my flesh, and at once a healing of the wound takes place to such a degree, that no scar at all is seen in that place, but rather He makes the place radiant, like the divine hand. A strange wonder indeed, my flesh—I mean the essence of my soul, yes, and of my body—having partaken of divine glory, flashes forth with divine radiance. Seeing this accomplished in part of my body, how will I not long for my whole body and beseech to be delivered from evils and to attain health, of the kind I said, and glory likewise? Yet as I do this, (246) and indeed more fervently, and as I am struck with amazement in proportion to the wonders, the Master, the good One, having moved His hand, goes over the remaining parts of my body, and I see them, in the way I described before, being cleansed and clothed in divine glory.

καί θερμῶς μετανοήσει καί αἰτήσεται ῥυσθῆναι τῶν δεσμῶν τῶν δεινοτάτων; Ὄντως πᾶς ὁ ταῦτα βλέπων καί στενάξει καί θρηνήσει καί συνέπεσθαι θελήσει τῷ τό φῶς ἐκλάμψαντι Χριστῷ. (245) Ταῦτα οὖν ποιῶν, ὡς εἶπον, καί τῷ λάμψαντι προσπίπτων Θέα μοι καλῶς ἅ λέξω! - ἅπτεται χερσίν ὁ λάμψας τῶν δεσμῶν μου καί τραυμάτων˙ ἔνθα δέ ἡ χείρ προσψαύσει ἤ δακτύλῳ προσεγγίσει, λύονται δεσμά εὐθέως, σκώληκες ἀπονεκροῦνται, πίπτουσι τά τραύματα δέ, συνεκπίπτει τούτοις ῥύπος καί κηλίς μικρά σαρκός μου, γίνεται συνούλωσίς τε ἀθρόως ἐπί τοσοῦτον, ὡς οὐλήν μή καθορᾶσθαι ὅλως ἐν ἐκείνῳ τόπῳ, ἀπαστράπτοντα δέ μᾶλλον ὅμοιον χειρός τῆς θείας ἀπεργάζεται τόν τόπον. Θαῦμα ξένον γε, ἡ σάρξ μου, τῆς ψυχῆς λέγω οὐσίαν, ναί δή, καί τοῦ σώματός μου, δόξης θείας μετασχόντα αἴγλην ἀπαστράπτει θείαν. Καθορῶν τοῦτο ἐν μέρει τελεσθέν τοῦ σώματός μου, πῶς τό ὅλον οὐ ποθήσω σῶμά μου καί ἱκετεύσω τῶν κακῶν ἀπαλλαγῆναι καί ὑγείας, οἵας εἶπον, δόξης τε τυχεῖν ὡσαύτως; Ὅμως οὕτως μου ποιοῦντος, (246) μᾶλλον δέ καί θερμοτέρως, καί μου καταπληττομένου ἀναλόγως τῶν θαυμάτων, χεῖρα τήν αὑτοῦ ∆εσπότης, ὁ καλός, μετακινήσας τά λοιπά τοῦ σώματός μου περιέρχεται, καί βλέπω ταῦτα, ᾧ προέφην τρόπῳ, καθαιρόμενα καί δόξαν ἐνδυόμενα τήν θείαν.
