to their just ones,> thus the Three interpreted: “and I will give their labor in truth”; for I will give them their reward, fulfilling my promise. 9And their seed will be known among the nations and their offspring in the midst of the peoples. He calls seed of the holy apostles and offspring those who have succeeded to their preaching. Everyone who sees them will recognize them, that they are a seed blessed by God. 10And with joy they will rejoice in the Lord. “For by the fruit the tree is known” according to the Lord's teaching. And how the servants of our Savior are distinguished, the facts themselves bear witness; for we see those entrusted with the greatest offices continually running to them and with fervent eagerness receiving the blessing from them. Having thus prophesied these things, he changes the form of the discourse and cries out in the person of the church to the benefactor: Let my soul rejoice in the Lord; for he has clothed me with a garment of salvation and has wrapped me in a tunic of gladness. A garment of salvation and a tunic of gladness he calls the grace of the all-holy baptism; “For as many of you,” he says, “as were baptized into Christ, have put on Christ.” Therefore also in the Hebrew language the garment of salvation is called a garment of *iesoua*, that is, of Jesus. As a bridegroom he has placed a mitre on me and as a bride he has adorned me with an ornament. She calls herself a bride as joined to the bridegroom, and a bridegroom as having put on the bridegroom. But the Three Interpreters called the mitre a “crown.” The blessed David also makes mention of this adornment; "The queen," he says, "stood at your right hand, clothed in a golden robe, adorned with variety." And the word of the all-holy spirit indicates the various gifts. 11And as the earth brings forth its beauty and flower and as a garden makes its seeds sprout, so the Lord will cause righteousness and exultation to spring up before all the nations. He showed the whole world to have become one paradise of righteousness. 621For Zion's sake I will not keep silent and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until my righteousness goes forth as light and my salvation burns like a torch. The bridegroom himself now says these things: For I will show, he says, to Zion and to Jerusalem, that all the nations will worship the one crucified by her and the rays of my salvation will run through the whole world. 2And the nations will see your righteousness and kings your glory. Yours, who rejoice in the garment of salvation, of my pleasing bride whom I have adorned with every kind of ornament. And he will call you by your new name which the Lord will name. Let the Jews say what new name they have received; for up to the present they are called Jews. But those who have believed in the Lord have received the new name, not being called from Abraham or Israel or Judah but being named from the Lord Christ himself; for they are called Christians by all since indeed through the all-holy baptism they have put on Christ. 3And you shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord and a diadem of royalty in the hand of the Lord your God 4and you shall no longer be called Forsaken, and your land shall no longer be called Desolate. The prophetic word often called the nations desolate; and they were forsaken for a very long time, receiving neither a prophet nor a divine lawgiver. But nevertheless he has given them a new name and calls them a diadem of royalty |179 a| and a bridal crown; for he called them a bride and promised them the kingdom of heaven. For you will be called My-Will and your land Inhabited, because the Lord will take pleasure in you, and your land will be inhabited. He also calls her Good-pleasure in the Song of Songs. And he calls good-pleasure the good will. So also the divine apostle: “according to the good pleasure of his will.” And showing the multitude of those who have believed, he calls her inhabited. 5And as a young man lives with a virgin so will your sons dwell; and in what way will rejoice
