For you sit forever. For always and in every time, corruptible is the

created nature, and the measure of created things is in these. But Wisdom, the artificer and creator of all things, sits, that is, it has an unshakable permanence in sameness. And again: For our sitting in these things signifies the unshakable and established nature of existence, and indicates the permanence of the highest of all essences; but that we perish forever, being corruptible at all times, at least as far as pertains to the principle of being created; if indeed it is true that everything that has come into being, and was brought forth from non-being into being, is in every way and entirely subject to corruption.

Ὅτι σὺ καθήμενος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. Ἀεὶ γὰρ καὶ ἐν παντὶ χρόνῳ φθαρτή ἐστιν ἡ

πεποιημένη φύσις, καὶ τῶν γεννητῶν ἐν τούτοις τὸ μέτρον. Κάθηται δὲ ἡ πάντων τεχνῖτις καὶ δημιουργὸς σοφία, τουτέστιν ἀκλόνητον ἔχει τὴν ἐν ταυτότητι διαμονήν. Καὶ πάλιν· Ἡμῶν γὰρ κάθισις ἐν τούτοις τὸ ἀκράδαντόν τε καὶ ἱδρυμένον τῆς ὑπάρξεως, καὶ διαμονῆς τῆς ἀνωτάτω πασῶν οὐσίας ὑποδηλοῖ· τὸ δὲ, ἡμᾶς ἀπόλλυσθαι τὸν αἰῶνα, τὸ εἶναι φθαρτοὺς κατὰ πάντα καιρὸν, τό γε ἧκον εἰς τὸν τοῦ πεποιῆσθαι λόγον· εἴπερ ἐστὶν ἀληθὲς ὅτι πᾶν τὸ ἐν γενέσει, καὶ παρενεχθὲν ἐκ τοῦ μὴ ὄντος εἰς τὸ εἶναι, πάντη τε καὶ πάντως ὑπόκειται τῇ φθορᾷ.
