αʹ. Προοίμιον τοῦ συγγραφέως καὶ περὶ τῆς ἀληθείας τῶν λεγομένων. βʹ.
Παραίτησις τοῦ μὴ τὰ πρότερα ἢ κατὰ τὸν συγγραφέα λέγειν. γʹ. Ὅπως οἱ παλαιοὶ κατωχύρουν τὰς ἄκρας. δʹ. Ὅπως τῶν ἐν ταῖς ἄκραις ἐπεμελοῦντο ἀνδρῶν καὶ πραγμάτων. εʹ. Ὅπως, παρὰ τῶν Ἰταλῶν ἁλούσης πάλαι τῆς πόλεως, ἐξησθένησαν τὰ κατὰ τὴν ἀνατολήν, καὶ τὰ κατὰ τὸν Χαδηνόν. ʹ. Ὅπως οἱ Πέρσαι κατέσχον τὰ τῆς Ῥωμαΐδος ὄρη. ζʹ. Ὅπως ὁ Κότυς τὸν Παλαιολόγον παρασκευάζει αὐτομολῆσαι πρὸς Πέρσας. ιʹ. Ὅπως, πάλιν ἐπανελθὼν καὶ δεχθεὶς ἐκ μεσιτείας τοῦ Ἰκονίου, στέλλεται στρατηγὸς ἐν τοῖς κατὰ δύσιν συνάμα τῷ ∆υρραχίου Χαλκούτζῃ. ιαʹ. Ὅπως ἀποστέλλεται Χαδηνὸς ἀναγαγεῖν τὸν Παλαιολόγον σιδηρόδετον καὶ τὰ ἐπὶ τούτοις συμβάντα καὶ ὅπως ἀχθεὶς καθείργνυται. ιβʹ. Ὅπως νοσῶν ὁ βασιλεὺς πάντας ἐπὶ μαγείαις ὑπώπτευε καὶ τὰ κατὰ τὴν μεγάλην δομεστίκισσαν Μαρίαν, εἴτ' οὖν Μάρθαν. ιγʹ. Θάνατος τοῦ βασιλέως Θεοδώρου καὶ τὰ ἔτι ζῶντος αὐτοῦ κατορθώ ματα. 5 ιδʹ. Ὅπως ἐπαιδεύετο ὁ Λάσκαρις Θεόδωρος παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς Ἰωάννου, εἰς βασιλείαν ἀναγόμενος. ιεʹ. Ὅπως ὁ πρωτοβεστιάριος Γεώργιος ὁ Μουζάλων τοῦ μειρακίσκου Ἰωάννου ἐπετρόπευεν. ιʹ. ∆ημηγορία τοῦ πρωτοβεστιαρίου Μουζάλωνος. ιζʹ. Ἀπολογία πρὸς τὴν δημηγορίαν τοῦ Παλαιολόγου. ιηʹ. Ἐπίθεσις κατὰ τῶν Μουζαλώνων. ιθʹ. Ὅπως παρὰ τοῦ στρατοῦ ἐτολμήθη ὁ φόνος τοῖς Μουζάλωσιν. κʹ. Ὅπως τῶν μεγιστάνων διὰ ταῦτά τινες ἀπεχώρουν, οἱ δὲ καὶ μένοντες ἐφυλάττοντο. καʹ. Ὅπως ἐφιλονείκουν οἱ ἄρχοντες περὶ τὴν τοῦ βασιλέως κηδεμονίαν. κβʹ. Ὅπως προετιμήθη τῶν ἄλλων ὁ Παλαιολόγος εἰς τὴν τοῦ ἀφήλικος βασιλέως ἐπιτροπήν, καὶ τοῦ πατριάρχου ἀπόντος. κγʹ. Ὅπως ὁ Παλαιολόγος ἐτιμήθη εἰς μέγαν δοῦκα. κδʹ. Ὅπως νοσήσας ὁ βασιλεὺς Ἰωάννης ὁ τοῦ Θεοδώρου πατὴρ πολλὰ τοῖς πένησιν ἐχορήγησεν. κεʹ. Ὅπως ἐπιπολαίως ὁ μέγας δοὺξ τῶν βασιλικῶν χρημάτων ἁπτόμενος περιεποίει ἑαυτῷ τὴν τῶν πολλῶν εὔνοιαν. κʹ. Ὅπως, ἐλθόντος τοῦ πατριάρχου, πολλὴν ὁ μέγας δοὺξ πρὸς ἐκεῖνον ἐπεδείξατο τὴν ὑπόπτωσιν. κζʹ. Ὅπως κατεδημαγώγουν τοὺς πλείστους οἱ ὑπὲρ τοῦ μεγάλου δουκὸς λέγοντες, ὥστε καὶ δεσπότην γενέσθαι. κηʹ. Ὅπως ὁ πατριάρχης συνῄνει τοῖς ὑπὲρ τοῦ Παλαιολόγου λέγουσιν. κθʹ. Ὅπως ὑποποιούμενος ὁ Παλαιολόγος τοὺς πολλοὺς δι' αὐτῶν ἀπῄτει καὶ τὸ μέγιστον. λʹ. Ὅπως ὁ ἐν τῇ δύσει δεσπότης Μιχαὴλ κατεπήρθη τῶν πραγμάτων. λαʹ. Ὅπως ὁ τῆς Ἀχαΐας πρίγκιψ Ῥωμαίοις ἑάλω.λβʹ. Ὅπως ὁ δεσπότης Μιχαήλ, συναθροίσας τὰς δυνάμεις, νικᾷ Ῥωμαίους καὶ αἱρεῖ καίσαρα.
