41. But what is to be said of those who, from vain glory or arrogance, speak unrighteousness against the most High,92 Ps. lxxiii. 8. (LXX.). arming themselves with the insolence of Jannes and Jambres,93 2 Tim. iii. 8. not against Moses, but against the truth, and rising in opposition to sound doctrine? Or of the third class, who through ignorance and, its consequence, temerity, rush headlong against every form of doctrine in swinish fashion, and trample under foot the fair pearls94 S. Matt. vii. 6; viii. 32. of the truth?
ΜΑʹ. Τί δ' ἂν εἴποι τις περὶ τῶν διὰ κενοδοξίαν ἢ φιλαρχίαν, ἀδικίαν εἰς τὸ ὕψος λαλούντων, Ἰαννοῦ τινος ἢ Ἰαμβροῦ μεγαληγορίας, οὐ κατὰ Μωϋσέως, τῆς δ' ἀληθείας ὁπλιζομένων, καὶ τῆς ὑγιαινούσης κατεξανισταμένων διδασκαλίας; ἢ τῆς τρίτης μοίρας τῶν δι' ἀπαιδευσίαν καὶ τὴν ἐπομένην ταύτῃ θρασύτητα ὁμόσε παντὶ λόγῳ χωρούντων συώδει πάθει, καὶ καταπατούντων τοὺς καλοὺς μαργαρίτας τῆς ἀληθείας;
