Μ. Καὶ μὴν πολλὰ, φησὶ, τῶν νῦν διεξοδικῶς εἰρημένων, πρὸς τοῦτον τὸν σκοπὸν φέρει.

This is the proper meaning of the middle: “should object,” as Oehler translates (einwerfen wollte), would require the active. behind the Apostle, where he says that every reasoning creature, in the restitution of all things, is to look towards Him Who presides over the whole? In that passage in the Epistle to the Philippians68 Philip. ii. 10. he makes mention of certain things that are “under the earth” “every knee shall bow” to Him “of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”

Τί οὖν, εἶπον, εἰ τὸν Ἀπόστολον ὁ ἀντιλέγων προβάλλοιτο, πᾶσαν λέγοντα τὴν λογικὴν κτίσιν ἐν τῇ τοῦ παντὸς ἀποκαταστάσει πρὸς τὸν τοῦ παντὸς ἐξηγούμενον βλέπειν, ἐν οἷς καταχθονίων μνημονεύει τινῶν δι' Ἐπιστολῆς πρὸς Φιλιππησίους εἰπών: ὅτι Αὐτῷ πᾶν γόνυ κάμψει ἐπουρανίων καὶ ἐπιγείων καὶ καταχθονίων;
